One of the wonders that gives us the Venezuelan Amazon rainforest is the majestic mountain Autana with sheer vertical wall of tropical vegetation, but, how to get there. I got an affordable solution called Orinoco Lodge Inns chain Tropical House that made me forget my worries. Inn is a well maintained camp type of Indian architecture and design located 20 minutes from Puerto Ayacucho, capital of Amazonas. Autana Hill is a plateau 1,300 m high and was declared a National Monument in 1978. Inside the hill there is a cave 395 m long and 40 m in height consisting entirely of quartz. Autana visit is an unforgettable experience and the tour will give you the opportunity to know the true nature intact Venezuelan Indians living there. If you are adventurous and have the strength, I recommend this trip. It lasts five days. To reach the inn, there are several ways. The quickest and comfortable way is by plane with Maiquetía-Puerto Ayacucho, the other is to go by bus but not all that we are so young. Attended by Mr. Mario Crapanzano, the inn consists of a main hut and 12 rooms in the form of hut overlooking the river Orinoco. The first day of travel. I recommend that night rides are chosen. The second day began with a transfer to Samariapo where we took a boat. We sailed up the river to the black waters of the river and visited Sipapo Piaroa indigenous community. Autana continue along the river to another indigenous community where we spent in hammocks. The third day we came back to sail by boat to the community Raudal of Blindness and performed a four-hour hike up a hill Wahari. From there we enjoyed a wonderful visit Autana hill. The fourth day started sailing back in a canoe. Upon arriving, the tranquility of Orinoco Lodge was indescribable. We made other excursions such as visits to the National Park, Colombia-The National Monument Tuparro and Turtle Rock. It was an unforgettable trip! Thomas Keller
