Venezuela-Los Nevados exhibited works at the Hotel Prado Rio

Image The popular exponents of the valleys, with the support of management of the Hotel Prado Rio, met with the development of more than 60 handcrafted pieces to be exhibited in Mérida, as part of rural tourism in the region is promoted by the entity attached to the network of Venezuelan Tourism (Venetur).

The general manager of Rio Prado, Jose Gregorio Martinez said that this achievement is part of the revival of artistic and cultural sector, in this case, the population of Los Nevados, consistent with the policies adopted by the Ministry of People's Power for Tourism (Mintur).


Martinez also noted that in September 2009 was made the donation of tools to a group of artists' mutual commitment to expose some of the work of artisans and popular exponents in a store that will open in the coming days in the Prado Rio .

The authors of the works are self-taught, native of Los Nevados and village El Carrizal, San Antonio and San Rafael, located in the outskirts of town.

The official stressed that the goal of this initiative is to provide a showcase for the works of artists from the state, hoping to publicize the culture of peoples. "Visitors can purchase unique pieces that reflect the everyday events of Los Nevados because in them there are lots of expression and the nature of agricultural work performed by the authors in their parts.

Among the artists who will exhibit their work at the Hotel Prado Rio highlights Dugarte little Joseph, aged 11, native of the town of Los Nevados.
The pieces were made with materials typical of the area, such as seeds, clay, wood, stone and minerals from the river Our Lady, plus handmade jewelry with silver thread and alpaca supplemented with natural elements.

For their part, the creators of works to be exhibited at the Hotel Prado Rio expressed his satisfaction at the impulse given by Mintur through Venetur.
